Y8 STEPS Trip to London
On Friday 26th January some Year 8 Steps Pupils visited London to tour around the House of Parliament and visited the London Eye. After around a three and a half hours of a coach journey (had to be at school at 7:00am -_-) we visited the London Eye and saw amazing views of Central London despite many people being nervous about going on board since it is very high. However once we got on board the breathtaking views distracted us from our nerves. We then went onto the main section of our visit - the tour of Parliament! Luckily we got to explore both the House of Lords and House of Commons where Peers and MP's debate key issues on the running of our country. We then got to do a model debate in the Parliament Education Centre as if we were proposing an idea in the House of Commons. The idea that was voted was a bill that made driving lessons free, however the opposition side proposed amendments that made it only for OAP's and Public Service Workers which won! We managed to g
