Easter Holiday Favourites 2016 ♡   Hello!¡   Before I start, I am SO SO sorry for not posting for the Easter Holidays, something unfortunately came up and we didn’t have time to create the blog posts :( BUT IN OTHER NEWS: We’re back for the last half term of the school year!! Raleigh blog #2

Raleigh Update On  the 18 th  to 20 th  was sport  relief  and Raleigh had a great  week, we  had teacher vs students basketball and  bench ball   tournaments but  unfortunately the teachers won. Also we had teachers  strictl y  and it was  amazing to watch all the teachers did really well we are really proud!!! We would like to congratulate  Mrs.  Farley and  Mrs.  K en wright  who did really well  dresse d  as  Shrek  and  Fiona  and a well done to Miss Mackie and  Mr.  Cook  :)    Also on the 18 th  Some students had the opportunity to go on a trip called the big bang every student did the school proud and really enjoyed it really well :)    Finally there was a music concert which showed amazing talent, I was surprised at how many  Raleigh  students took part. Jack and The Beanstalk Trip Report from P6 Books and Beyond

We recently went to see Jack and The Beanstalk at the Alexandria. It was a very enjoyable experience because it was very funny and involved the crowd a lot. We were surprised to see that when Jack came onto the stage he was being played by a girl. However, we easily came to like this unique change. We thought she had a very high quality of acting. We were also a fan of the fact that it was different. However, some people were overheard saying that they found the female Jack strange as they found it difficult to remember that she was playing a man. This got us thinking about men playing women in pantomimes.   This is easily accepted whereas women playing men is not seen as positively. During William Shakespeare’s times, females were not allowed to act in plays. This may have influenced modern day people’s views on women playing men.   However, we dislike the fact women playing men is not as easily accepted as men playing women.
