Sporting News:

Dance:

Last summer, between 25th June and 5th July, Aelwen Haines (M02) attended the Dance World Cup in Bucharest, Romania. It was an amazing experience, where she got to experience some wonderful things, and take part in a fantastic event. She stayed in a five star hotel, which apparently had the best ice cream that she's ever had, and she came away with two gold medals and a bronze medal. The orchestra which attended the event also won the award for best classical group in the world, which show you how amazing the talent was at the event. She will be attending this year when it is held in Jersey, and her grandparents are even coming over from Ireland to watch her compete this time.

Aelwen also attended the Worcester festival this Easter holiday, where she came away with a gold medal for her song and dance group, gold and silver medals for the modern dance groups she was part of, and gold and bronze for her stylised ballet groups. Her duet performance qualified her for the All England semi-finals.

She will be attending the Leamington festival in a few weeks, and will hope fully bring back even more medals.

Taekwon-do:

Great news! Ashleigh Freeman in year 7, won a silver medal in an international open Taekwon-do competition.

She won the medal sparring, and this is only her 2nd ever competition and her first ever medal.

Boxing:

WORCESTER City amateur junior Owen Cooper booked a place in the Midlands final after beating Mitchell Lowe at Donnington in Telford. Owen has already beaten 2 National Champions in his prior 3 rounds and is now into the Round of 16 for the Nationals.

Football:

The U13 girls' football team played their final game in the group stages of the Worcestershire School League against Christopher Whitehead school.  The girls won 12-2 making them top of the league for another year running!
