SAS

Hi guys so today we are going to be talking about SAS. Me (Aaliyah) does Photography it is really good and me (Ruby) does Animal care its very smelly but also really awesome. Here is some other SAS like Tudor Radio, Adventures, Media and Debate etc. Animal Care - The animals at animal care are 3 Rabbits, a guinea pig, a dog, a cat, 3 goats, 2 chickens, 2 donkeys and 4 ducks. We go on the mini bus to another place that has all these animals. During our SAS session, we clean the animals out. This means that we have to clean out any droppings and replace straw so the animals don't get infection and disease. Then we walk the dog and go to see some horses. Marvin, the rabbit, goes into the furthest corner so we can't reach him often! Falcon is a duck and she is amazing because she is really friendly. Photography - In photography, we go around the school and take photos of different things. We have a task sheet with challenges on (For example, take a photo from the second f

The Hive English Trip

Image
Have you been to the Hive yet? It's a great space to hangout, play games, use the computers and finally read books. Year 7 went on a trip to look at the huge library of books on offer at the hive. We looked at original letters from WW1 soldiers; it was quite strange as they all seemed calm but all around them there were bombs going off and shells landing. We also did speed dating, but with books. We looked at brand new books that aren't even on the shelves yet. There were some great books we found that wanted to make us read. Finally we picked up a book from the library and checked it out. Ruby is currently reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Intercollege Cup Sports Day!

Hi!!! It's Ruby and Aaliyah reporting again this evening, and we're posting about our day off timetable to take part in an inter-college cup sports day! All of year 7 and 8 were involved and this is how it went. It was a great day; very  brutal but very fun. First we went to tutor and then got dressed and ready for the fun! The year groups played separately. Year 7 and 8 took part in the 4 hours of excitement. The year 8 girls did netball and bench ball. The year 7 girls played bench ball and the year 7and 8 boys played rugby. Each form got to play 6 times. The teams who did the best played in a final. Versalius were the winners of year 7 bench ball! We heard at the end that Versalius also won the other year 7 games! Other winners were Raleigh (Year 8 Netball) and Walsingham (Year 8 Rugby).   Unfortunately, Marlowe and Tyndale didn't place in the top 3 :( Whilst it was lots of fun, it was seriously competitive! We both have war wounds(!) from our efforts to win.

So today year 7 went on a Cathedral trip. All day we stayed at the Worcester Cathedral for about 3 hours including a 5 min break to rest our legs. I(Ruby)got very tired as well as my friend. Our history and geography teachers took us because it will help in our general knowledge. We looked at architecture and had a tour about the history.  There was a lot of time to stop and explore and admire the building. We stopped to hear a prayer, because every hour a prayer is said. Inside it was really big with some beautiful stained glass windows.  The day ended walking back to the school. It was nice to get some exercise and fresh air.

Open evening!!!!!

Hi Everybody! Did you come to Open Evening? It was amazing. Me (Aaliyah) toured people around the school. It was very good showing people the school so they would get the experience of seeing what Tudor Grange Academy  is like. Also me (Ruby) helped out in english with Miss Lees and fellow students!  Aaliyah - To start off, I met the people I was to show around by Reception. I took them around the school very slowly, focusing on the key areas they wanted to go to. The main areas people were interested in were English, P.E, Drama, Music, Computer Rooms and the Cooking classrooms. My favourite part of the evening was the fact that lots of my friends were helping too and I got to walk around with my friends. I had to remember some facts such as the times of our split lunches and what's on the menu! Lots of people were really interested and asked lots of questions.  Ruby - My role on Open Evening was to help in English. We had to help the year 6 students make up Shakespe

News and Updates: Farewell!

Image
Hello!   This blog post is sadly the last one of the school year :(( I literally can't believe I've been running my blog for almost a year, remind me to do a big celebratory post for that!    But this post will just be me briefly telling you what’s going to happen on the blog in the next few months or so :) I was going to post weekly or every few days in the holidays, but unfortunately I didn't have a lot of time and I spent my spare time on the Summer project. But my goal for next years blog will be to post a lot more! I also have a lot more blog post ideas for next year: Interviewing MORE people about MORE things, lots of DIY's and hacks, and also just a lot more content in general with more college blog posts. I also want to say that the monuments the tutors built were AMAZING! Especially Mrs Allaway's tutor who made 'The Valley of the Fallen' and you could easily see that they spent a lot of time and put a lot of effort into it! So
